Dhaka, Aug. 7 -- BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has emphasised the need for unity among pro-democracy political parties, calling it essential for national progress and the preservation of democratic values.
Speaking virtually ahead of the BNP's "Victory Rally" in the capital - held to mark the first anniversary of the July Uprising - Tarique Rahman urged parties with democratic commitments to overcome differences through dialogue and collaboration.
"We will have differing opinions on many issues, but these must be resolved through dialogue. In the interest of national unity, we must not allow democratic forces to become divided," he said.
