At least 11 construction workers were injured when the roof of an under-construction hall collapsed at Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) in Trishal, Mymensingh. Following the incident, both the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the university administration have formed separate investigation committees.

According to a press release issued on Friday (August 1) by the UGC's Public Relations and Right to Information Division, a four-member committee headed by Mohammad Maksudur Rahman Bhuiyan, Director of UGC's Planning and Development Division, has been tasked with visiting the site on Sunday (August 3) and submitting a report as soon as possible.
