Dhaka, Feb. 25 -- Students from the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) and Viquarunnesa Noon College (VNC) formed a human chain in front of their campuses on Monday, protesting the alarming rise in crime rates across the city.

The students are demanding immediate action from authorities to address the escalating issues of rape, murder, and mugging in the area.

The peaceful protest, which began at noon, saw students holding hands and chanting slogans calling for safer environments on and around their campuses.

With posters and banners in hand, the demonstrators urged the government and law enforcement agencies to take stronger measures to prevent violent crimes, particularly against women and students.
