Dhaka, Sept. 11 -- Two men accused of mugging have been beaten to death in separate incidents that took place within four hours of each other in Dhaka's Mohammadpur.

The attacks happened around 3:30am and 7:30am on Wednesday near the Nabinagar Bridge, within a short distance of each other, according to police. The dead men were identified by single names as Sujon, 21, and Hanif, reports bdnews24.com.

"They were lynched while mugging people," he said. Two other alleged muggers were injured in the incidents, he added.

All four were taken to Suhrawardy Hospital, where doctors declared two of them dead. The two injured men are undergoing treatment in the same hospital.
