Dhaka, March 19 -- Train communication between Dhaka and the rest of the country resumed by 2:30 pm on Wednesday, following a three-hour disruption caused by the derailment of two freight train wagons near Kamalapur rail station.

Mohammad Anwar Hossain, station master of Kamalapur Railway Station, said two wagons of the container train from Chattogram veered off the tracks around 11:35am while entering the Kamalapur station, forcing the authorities to halt train movement.

Around 1:10am, the authorities started resuming the operation of train on single track from the station.

However, the rail movement returned to normal around 2:30pm after the removal of the two wagons from the rail tracks, he said.
