Dhaka, Oct. 8 -- A fisherman injured in a crocodile attack in the East Sundarbans has received financial assistance from the Forest Department. On Monday morning, the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of the East Sundarbans Division handed over a cheque of Tk 1 lakh to the affected fisherman, Saiful Jamaddar.According to Forest Department sources, Saiful Jamaddar, son of Golam Mostafa of Joymoni village in Mongla upazila, was seriously injured in a crocodile attack while catching crabs in the Pashur River on October 7, 2024.
His fellow fishermen rescued him and took him first to Mongla Upazila Health Complex and later to Khulna Medical College Hospital for better treatment. After a long period of treatment, Saiful recovered and returned home...
