Dhaka, June 26 -- Bangladesh scored 220 for the loss of eight wickets on Day 1 against Sri Lanka in the second Test at Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka on Wednesday.

The Tigers won in the coin session and decided to bat first in a rain interrupted first day play of the second Test.

Bangladesh had a sorrow start as opener Anamul Haque Bijoy (0) was bowled out by Asitha Fernando when Bangladesh's score was just five runs.

After Bijoy's departure, opener Shadman Islam and Mominul Haque added together 38 runs in the second wicket stand before Mominul Haque (21) was caught at the cover by substitute Pavan Rathnayake off Dhananjaya de Silva when the tourists' total was 43 for the loss of two wickets.
