Dhaka, March 24 -- Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) has urged the interim government to include a provision in the draft "Public Audit Bill-2024" that ensures prioritising the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) office, enhancing its effectiveness, and focusing on auditing revenue determination and realisation.

The TIB has already submitted its recommendations before the interim government for its consideration.

The recommendations include jurisdiction of auditing for national revenue and its realisation, ensuring accountability of all concerned employees of those entities which are under auditing, jurisdiction of CAG to appoint its own manpower and formulating the necessary rules, read a press release.
