Dhaka, April 17 -- Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, has emphasized that three key conditions must be met before the next national election can take place. These conditions include: reforms, justice for fascist elements, and the establishment of a proper electoral process.
He made the statement during a press conference held at hotel westin in Dhaka on Thursday. Jamaat Ameer noted that the February 2026 timeline for the election is not fixed. "The election may take place before or after that date-if the conditions are fulfilled," he said.
