Dhaka, May 14 -- National Identity Card (NID) services were suspended for an eight and half hours on Tuesday due to technical error across the country. Although the system has been restored later the service providing will resume today (Wednesday).

The issue has occurred due to the failure in receiving One-Time Passwords (OTP) required for accessing the NID server.

On Tuesday, Director General of the National Identity Registration Division, ASM Humayun Kabir, confirmed this information to the media.

Later he said after log-in NID server, the customer got an OTP code which were suspended from 9 am to 5 pm. Now it has been restored.
