Dhaka, March 21 -- Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will procure 8,000 tonnes of lentils and 10,000 tonnes of sugar for its open market sale (OMS) programme on the occasion of holy month of Ramadan.

Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) in a meeting on Wednesday approved two separate proposals of the TCB.

The Commerce Ministry placed the proposal on behalf of the TCB. Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali presided over the meeting.

As per the proposals, the TCB will procure 8,000 tonnes of lentil from Agrigo Trading Ltd of India at a cost of Tk 766.4 million through an open tender. Each kilogramme (kg) of lentil will cost Tk 100.80.
