Dhaka, June 1 -- The government is set to introduce a new category called "July Warriors" under the personal income tax regime, offering tax exemption on annual income up to Tk 525,000 for a period of two years starting from the 2026-27 fiscal year.War-wounded freedom fighters are also expected to see their tax-free income threshold raised to Tk 525,000 from FY27, up from the current Tk 500,000.Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed is scheduled to unveil the national budget on June 2, outlining measures for the 2025-27 fiscal years beginning this July.The new tax benefit will apply specifically to gazetted July Warriors.
