Dhaka, March 19 -- BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman warned on Wednesday that extremists and fascists could once again threaten democracy in Bangladesh. He assured that his party, alongside other democratic groups, would prioritise safeguarding the country's secular values and strengthening democracy in their future political agenda.
"We would like to draw the attention of the interim government that if it fails to control the evil activities of religious extremists and their radicalism, extremist groups and defeated fascist forces will once again bury democracy in the country," he said while virtually addressing an iftar event.
