Dhaka, May 8 -- BNP Acting Chairperson Tarique Rahman has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the thousands of party leaders, activists, and members of the public who turned out to welcome his mother and BNP Chairperson, Begum Khaleda Zia, upon her return from the United Kingdom following four months of medical treatment.

In a statement signed by the party's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, the BNP noted that the party chief received a warm and festive reception on Tuesday, with supporters lining the route from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to her residence in Gulshan-2.
