Dhaka, Dec. 20 -- BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman applied on Thursday at the Bangladesh High Commission in London for a travel pass to return to the country on 25 December. He received the travel pass on Friday morning, local time in London.
Responsible BNP sources and a source at the Bangladesh High Commission in London confirmed the matter.
It is learned that due to political reasons, Tarique Rahman has been living in exile in London and did not receive a Bangladeshi passport after his previous one expired.
Although he had the opportunity to apply for passport renewal following the fall of the Awami League government during last year's uprising, he did not do so.
