Dhaka, Aug. 10 -- BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman emphasised on Saturday that establishing democratic practices across all sectors is essential to ensure government accountability to the people of Bangladesh.
Drawing on his experience living in London, he highlighted how doctors facing abuse and patients denied proper care receive justice in the UK, attributing this to the country's robust accountability framework. "Such a system of accountability is urgently needed in Bangladesh," he added.
Speaking virtually at the council session of the Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB), Tarique said the public has high expectations of the BNP, particularly the need to create a proper system that guarantees accountability.
