Dhaka, Aug. 18 -- BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has cautioned that Bangladesh must never be allowed to turn into a haven for extremism or fundamentalism.
"Our expectation is that this country will never become a breeding ground for extremism or fundamentalism," he said while virtually addressing a views-exchange meeting at the National Press Club on Sunday.
The programme, titled "The role and responsibilities of poets and writers in the transition to democracy" and organised by the BNP, highlighted his call for national unity.
