Dhaka, Nov. 22 -- Bangladesh tightened their grip on the Mirpur Test after bowling Ireland out on the third afternoon in Mirpur, with Taijul Islam joining Shakib Al Hasan at the top of Bangladesh's all-time Test wicket-takers list.

Ireland, who resumed on 98-5, were dismissed in their first innings for 265, still trailing by 211 runs.

Taijul delivered a decisive burst after a brief earthquake-induced stoppage, removing set batter Stephen Doheny for 46 and bowling Andy McBrine two balls later. Those strikes helped him move to 247 Test wickets, level with Shakib who earlier picked up a wicket in the innings.
