Dhaka, July 10 -- A Dhaka court on Wednesday granted a seven-day remand for Subrata Bain alias Fateh Ali in connection with the murder of Jubo Dal leader Md Arif Sikder.

On Wednesday (July 9), Bain was produced before the court where the investigating officer, Inspector Mohammad Mazharul Islam, sought a 10-day remand to question him further. After hearing arguments from both the prosecution and the defence, Metropolitan Magistrate Md Abdul Wahab approved a seven-day remand for Bain.

Arif Sikder, who was the former assistant sports secretary of the Jubo Dal's Dhaka North unit (Ward 36), was shot on the night of April 19 in front of "The Jhil Cafe" in the Nayatola area of Hatirjheel.
