Dhaka, Feb. 23 -- A group of students and citizens blocked the road at Asad Gate in the capital, protesting against incidents of rape across the country and demanding security for all. Due to the protest, traffic on one side of the road has been halted, while vehicles are moving on the other side.
As a result, the area is experiencing traffic congestion.
On Sunday (February 23) at around 12:30 PM, students and citizens gathered to block the road.
Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Arifur Rahman told Banglanews, "The students and citizens have blocked the road at Asad Gate. Traffic is operating on one side of the road. Senior police officials are present at the scene."
