Dhaka, Sept. 8 -- The Power Division has instructed officials and employees of the Palli Bidyut Samity to return to their respective workplaces within the next 24 hours.
Failure to do so will result in legal action against those who have gone on work abstention, the division said in a statement issued on Sunday by Mohammad Shafiullah, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources.
The statement said that uninterrupted electricity supply is an essential service. Any obstruction or disruption in providing this service is a punishable offense under the Essential Services Act.
