Dhaka, Sept. 2 -- Popular West Bengal director Srijit Mukherjee's new film is about Sarat Chandra Chatterjee and his much-talked-about novel 'Pather Dabi'. Next August will mark the centenary of the publication of the novel 'Pather Dabi,' written in the context of the anti-British movement.
Keeping this occasion in mind, Srijit is making a film titled 'Emperor vs. Sarat Chandra'. The film's director announced the film recently.
The central character of the novel 'Pather Dabi', Sabyasachi, was modeled after a famous revolutionary of the time by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. Sabyasachi performed one revolutionary act after another under the noses of the British, but the then rulers were unable to catch him.
