Dhaka, Feb. 7 -- Actress Sohana Saba has been taken to the Detective Branch (DB) office for questioning, Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Media and Public Relations Division Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Wilbur Rahman confirmed on Thursday night.

Earlier in the evening, actress and director Meher Afroz Shaon was also taken into DB custody from her residence in Dhaka's Dhanmondi area.

DB Chief Rezaul Karim Mallick stated that Shaon was detained on charges of conspiring against the state and was taken to the DB office on Mintoo Road for further questioning.

The detention follows growing discussions and debates over Shaon's political stance and recent remarks that have stirred controversy on social media.
