Dhaka, Aug. 12 -- SI Akbar Hossain, the main accused in the Raihan murder case, who was tortured to death at a sensational police outpost in Sylhet, has been granted six-month interim bail by the High Court.

He was released from Sylhet Metropolitan Jail Monday evening after receiving bail on Sunday (August 10) morning.

Senior Jail Superintendent of Sylhet Metropolitan Jail Prashant Kumar Banik confirmed the bail of SI Akbar Hossain and his release from prison.

Upon receiving the news of the bail, the mother of the deceased Raihan said, "Now this accused can leave the country. We are disappointed with his bail."

The testimony in this sensational murder case has already been concluded and the verdict was expected to be announced any day...
