Dhaka, Feb. 9 -- A case has been filed against 35 leaders of the Awami League (AL), including former Members of Parliament Sheikh Helal Uddin and Sheikh Sarhan Naser Tonmoy, in connection with an alleged attack on students during the protests that erupted in July and August.
Md Rafiqul Islam Mithu, a businessman, filed the case against 35 identified people and 50-60 unnamed ones with Fakirhat Police Station on Saturday, said Officer-In-Charge of the Police Station SM Alamgir Kabir, reports UNB.
Former superintendent of Bagerhat police Abul Hasnat Khan was arrested after he was shown arrested in the case.
