Dhaka, Dec. 18 -- Shakib Al Hasan's father-in-law Mumtaz Ahmed died on Wednesday in United the United States of America (USA). Shakib's father Khondoker Masroor Reza confirmed this matter. Mumtaz Ahmed was 72.
Mumtaz Ahmed had been suffering from illness for a long time.
After the first Qualifier match between Gamocon Khulna and Gazi Group Chattogram of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup Cricket on December 14, Shakib knew that his father-in-law's condition was critical. So, Shakib Left the city on December 15 for USA without take part in the final.
Manager of Gemcon Khulna Nafees Iqbal said to the newsmen, " Shakib left the city on Tuesday. His father-in-law's condition was critical. So, Shakib Al Hasan informed this matter to us."
