Dhaka, Aug. 27 -- Shakib Al Hasan etched his name into cricketing history in Antigua, becoming the first cricketer to claim 500 wickets and score over 7,000 runs in T20 cricket.
The milestone came during the Caribbean Premier League, where Shakib starred with both ball and bat for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
Coming into the match with 498 T20 wickets, Shakib had struggled to make an impact early in the tournament-managing just one wicket in four overs across his first four matches.
He also went wicketless in the previous game, conceding 16 runs in two overs. But against the Patriots, the 38-year-old all-rounder rediscovered his rhythm, taking three wickets for just 11 runs in two overs.
