India, Jan. 8 -- A moderate cold wave is sweeping through the northern township of Ishwardi. On Wednesday, the minimum temperature in Ishwardi was recorded at 7.3 degrees Celsius.
The severity of the cold has intensified due to icy winds descending from the Himalayas. Harsh cold and dense fog have brought severe disruption to daily life.
On Wednesday morning, the lowest temperature of the season was recorded at the Ishwardi Weather Observation Centre. At that time, air humidity was 100 percent, and cold winds were blowing at a speed of 5 to 6 kilometers per hour.
