Dhaka, April 14 -- Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed on Sunday said the urgent need for establishing a separate secretariat for the Supreme Court (SC) to ensure greater transparency and accountability in the judiciary through meaningful reforms.

Speaking at the inauguration of "Nayakunja" on the Khulna Judge Court premises, the Chief Justice emphasized that such structural change is essential for implementing reforms aimed at creating a more transparent, accountable, and sustainable judicial system in Bangladesh".

He asserted that without a dedicated SC secretariat, achieving the desired judicial reforms would be difficult.
