Dhaka, July 21 -- 07am on Sunday while undergoing treatment at Dhaka's United Hospital, according to his wife and painter Ivy Zaman.

Hamiduzzaman was admitted to the hospital on Jul 15 and had been in intensive care for three days, she said. He had been battling dengue and pneumonia.

"The doctors have informed us that his heart and kidneys are in good condition. We are hopeful that once the pneumonia is under control, he will be moved from the ICU to a regular bed," she had said at the time.

A medical board, formed on Thursday, had been monitoring Hamiduzzaman's condition, she added. However, he could not be saved.

His body may be taken to Dhaka University's Faculty of Fine Arts from the hospital, Ivy said, reports bdnews24.com.
