Dhaka, March 9 -- Vote counting in the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) election was halted, following a clash between two groups on Friday.
The altercation was carried out by two groups over the announcement of the polls' results.
SCBA Chief Election Commissioner Senior Advocate Abul Khair said several lawyers were attacked in the SCBA polling centre and therefore the vote counting was halted.
Meanwhile, independent candidate Nahid Sultana Juthi was elected as the secretary of SCBA.
Later, the law enforcers managed to bring the situation under control. The ballot boxes are currently in police custody.
