Dhaka, July 10 -- Nine prominent political and administrative figures, including former Prime Minister's adviser Salman F Rahman and former law minister Anisul Huq, have been officially shown arrested in multiple new cases linked to last year's 'July Uprising' anti-discrimination movement.

The arrests were recorded in several cases filed with Jatrabari Police Station in Dhaka. On Wednesday, investigating officers produced the accused before the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court, seeking permission to show them arrested in the pending cases. Metropolitan Magistrate Masum Mia granted the petitions after hearings.
