Dhaka, March 25 -- Sadarghat Launch Terminal, the country's busiest and largest water transport hub, is witnessing a surge in passengers as Eid holidaymakers opt for river travel.
The terminal, which had seen a drop in passengers following the opening of the Padma Bridge, is now revitalized due to enhanced management and improved services.
Despite modern road and railway networks, waterways remain a preferred mode of travel for those residing near riverbanks and in the southwestern districts of Barishal, Bhola, Patuakhali, Barguna, Pirojpur, and Jhalakathi, as well as southeastern districts like Noakhali, Chandpur, and Laxmipur.
