Dhaka, June 24 -- Coast Guard has arrested an associate of notorious Sundarbans robber Karim Sharif Bahini with weapons and ammunition. Media Officer of Coastguard Lieutenant Commander Harun-or-Rashid said this to journalists on Monday morning. He said that acting on secret information, a special operation was conducted by Coast Guard Base Mongla on Monday in the Arbhawani canal of the Shibsa River in the Sundarbans. During the operation, one of the associates of notorious Sundarbans robber Karim Sharif Bahini, Md. Sohel Hossain Mithu (37), was arrested from the said area along with 1 single-barrel gun, 3 rounds of live cartridges. The arrested person is a resident of Dakop police station in Khulna district.
