Dhaka, June 30 -- Five people were killed in two separate road accidents in the capital's Uttara and Kafrul areas early Sunday.
In Uttara, around 3:00 AM, a truck ran over three pedestrians-members of the same family-while they were standing at Azampur intersection.
Two died on the spot and the third succumbed to injuries at the hospital.Their identities are yet to be confirmed.
The truck has been seized, and the bodies sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue, said Golam Mostafa, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Uttara East Police Station.
In a separate accident on the Bijoy Sarani Link Road under Kafrul Police Station, two young men were killed when their motorcycle collided with a speeding microbus.
