The prices of all most all types of rice witnessed a hike by Tk 4 to 6 a kilogram on the kitchen markets across the country at the retail level. Despite the Boro harvest, rice prices have unexpectedly risen by Tk4-6per kg since Eid-ul-Adha, causing financial strain on consumers and discontent among farmers.According to treaders in Kishoreganj, the price of rice hiked at the production level, due to a hike in paddy prices which impacted the retail level. The hike of paddy price in the current season is unusual.
