India, Jan. 9 -- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Thursday said the killing of Azizur Rahman Musabbir is part of a series of brutal incidents intended to place the government in a difficult position. In a condolence message, Fakhrul termed the murder of Musabbir-former general secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Swechchhasebak Dal-as a calculated act by saboteurs seeking to create chaos in the country for political advantage.

"Following the downfall of the Awami autocratic ruling group through the student-public movement, destabilising forces have once again become active to plunge the country into disorder for their own benefit. The merciless killing of Musabbir is a clear example of this conspiracy," he said.
