Dhaka, May 19 -- In the first 17 days of May, remittance inflow into the country amounted to 161 million US dollars, equivalent to Tk 19,642 crore, based on an exchange rate of Tk 122 per dollar. This translates to an average daily remittance of 9.47 million dollars, or approximately Tk 1,155 crore.According to Bangladesh Bank sources, of the total remittance received in May, 49.33 million dollars came through state-owned banks, while specialized banks like the Agrani Bank contributed over 15 million dollars.
