Dhaka, March 27 -- Bangladesh's remittance inflow saw a significant year-on-year increase of 82.4 per cent, totaling $2,945 million in the first 26 days of March. The surge is attributed to migrant workers sending more money to their families ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, the country's biggest religious celebration.

According to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB), the country logged a total of $1,614 million in remittances during the same period last year.

Expatriates have sent remittances of $21435 million during the July 2024 - 26 March 2025 of the current fiscal year, which was only $16,692 million during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
