Dhaka, July 16 -- The Police Headquarters (PHQ) in a statement on Tuesday said that recent incidents of attacks and murders involving religious minorities were not communal in nature; rather most of these incidents occurred due to personal, financial, family feuds and general crimes.

The statement came in response to allegations made at a recent press conference jointly organised by the Bangladesh Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Oikya Parishad and the Minority Oikya Murcha where statistics on violence and killings against minorities were presented.
