Dhaka, May 8 -- A senior officer of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) reportedly killed himself using his service firearm at the RAB-7 Bahaddarhat camp in Chattogram on Wednesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as senior assistant superintendent of police Palash Saha, 37. According to RAB sources, the incident occurred around 10:30am while ASP Palash was preparing for an operation. He had taken his firearm and entered his office room.

After that colleagues heard a gunshot and rushed to the spot, where they found him with a bullet wound to the head. His service pistol was lying on the floor, and a suicide note was found on the table, said senior ASP (media) of RAB-7, ARM Muzaffar Hossain.
