Dhaka, April 24 -- Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Meheraj Islam, the prime accused in the murder of Primeasia University student Zahidul Islam Parvez, from Gaibandha on Wednesday.

With Meheraj's arrest, five individuals have now been taken into custody in connection with the case. Four of them are currently on seven-day remand for interrogation.

The brutal incident occurred on April 18, when Parvez and his friend Tarikul Islam were attacked by a group wielding local weapons on the road in front of Primeasia University, located in Banani, Dhaka. Parvez was rushed to Kurmitola General Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
