To pray for the soul of Begum Khaleda Zia, former three-time Prime Minister, uncompromising leader of democracy, and Chairperson of BNP, the Gangachhara Upazila BNP organised a Quran recitation and prayer session at the Upazila BNP office. National and party flags were flown at half-mast, and party members, supporters, and well-wishers wore black badges.
The programme began on Tuesday morning, following the announcement of the party's seven-day schedule and the government's programme after her passing. A Quran khatam (complete recitation) was conducted, followed by a prayer session. The recitation and prayers continued on Wednesday as well.
