Dhaka, Oct. 21 -- The Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment has refuted reports claiming that Qatar has stopped issuing visas for Bangladeshi workers, calling them "completely baseless."

In a press release issued on Thursday, the ministry said the rumours being circulated on social media and in some media outlets are "deliberate attempts by vested groups to mislead the public and create unnecessary confusion." It urged citizens not to believe or spread such misinformation.

The ministry clarified that Qatar's labour market remains open to Bangladeshi workers. From September 2024 to September 2025, a total of 111,662 Bangladeshi workers went to Qatar, where currently 425,681 Bangladeshis are employed.
