Bangladesh, Jan. 22 -- Former state minister for information and veteran Awami League leader Prof Abu Sayeed has joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), marking a significant political shift after decades of association with the fallen fascist party (AL).

According to BNP media cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan, Prof Abu Sayeed formally joined the party on Wednesday by presenting a bouquet to BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan.
