Dhaka, Aug. 16 -- The price of essential commodities in capital kitchen market has gone beyond the buying capacity of limited income group people putting them into severe hardship to maintain normal life meeting basic demands.
In the market, there are not a single vegetables except papaya are getting below Tk80 while papaya is being sold at Tk40.
Daily necessary items price hike is forcing consumers to cut back on purchases as they feel exhausted with their poor income.
While visiting few markets on Friday (15 August) like Haterjill, Palashi, New Market, Killer Mor, Ananda Bazar, North Badda, Middle Badda, Rampura, Malibagh and Shantinagar, it was found that most vegetable prices were up by Tk20-50 per kg.
