Dhaka, May 30 -- Today marks the 44th death anniversary of BNP founder and former President Ziaur Rahman.

To observe the occasion, the BNP and its affiliated organizations have announced an eight-day programme. The commemoration began on 25 May and will continue until June 2, featuring a range of events and activities.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi revealed the programme on May 20, following a joint meeting of the party and its associated bodies held at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan.

He stated, "As Eid-ul-Adha will be observed on 7 June, we have slightly shortened the schedule of our programme."
