Dhaka, Oct. 7 -- Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Porwar has said that a proportional representation (PR)-based election is possible if all political parties reach a consensus.

He said, "There are six types of PR systems that can be adopted. If all political parties agree, an election under the PR system can certainly be held. Under this system, nomination trading and the influence of black money would be eliminated. Only through a PR-based election can we establish an accountable governance system and ensure that the people's desired representatives are truly elected."
