Dhaka, April 21 -- Disappointed with the outcome of recent discussions, hundreds of students from polytechnic institutes across the country have declared that their movement will continue.

They issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the government to accept their six-point demand, warning of a long march to Dhaka if no action is taken.

The announcement came at a district-based gathering outside the Women's Polytechnic Institute in Agargaon, Dhaka, around 12:00 pm on Sunday. Mizanur Rahman, a representative of the Polytechnic Students' Movement, said, "If there is no official announcement accepting our demands within 48 hours, students from all polytechnic institutes will march to Dhaka."
