Dhaka, Sept. 14 -- Police have arrested a man for allegedly killing his wife following a domestic dispute in Joypurhat's Sadar Upazila.

The arrestee, 52-year-old Jahir Uddin, was apprehended on Saturday from the Upazila's Boro Tajpur village, according to Joypurhat Sadar Police Station chief Tambirul Islam.

Meanwhile, the body of his wife, 45-year-old Rokeya Begum, has been sent to the Joypurhat General Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination, reports bdnews.24.com.

OC Tambirul said Jahir and Rokeya frequently argued over domestic issues. During an argument on Friday night, Jahir allegedly struck his wife on the head with a sharp weapon, killing her on the spot.
